The past six months of his life play out too, like some badly edited montage of Minho's epic failures; the weeks he spent in bed with nothing but his cats and horror B-movies, impulsively quitting his job and begging his sister to let him live with her in Canada, Jisung and Hyunjin visiting him with mushroom soup—he thinks about it all and reflects deeply. Would it be too late for him to throw eggs at Chan's car? It wouldn't be, but Minho knows the main problem doesn't lie with that Australian man.
He sees the plane ticket and his passport on the kitchen counter. He wants to take them and shred them to pieces, but he doesn't. He just hugs Doongie tighter and whispers into his ear that he's going to live with someone new soon, someone who will take care of him until Minho returns.

“Kim Seungmin,” Lee Minho says, or rather, demands (because when it comes to Seungmin, Minho rarely, if ever, says anything). “I love you.”
Hyunjin, who’s seated beside him on the sofa, chokes and starts coughing up a spit ball. Jeongin, on Hyunjin’s other side, lets out a strangled noise akin to a cat giving birth and loses his grip on the TV remote, which goes skittering across the floor.
Seungmin blinks, unsure if he should play along or inform Minho that he never agreed to a hidden camera prank, especially during off-work hours.
“Good evening to you too, hyung,” he finally says, choosing to do neither. “Can you hand me the remote?”
(or, minho tells seungmin that he loves him. it takes seungmin six months to say it back.)

Summary
Seungmin is against any type of stereotype, but he has to admit that he perfectly fits the definition of “nerd”. Lee Minho, in turn, is the perfect stereotype of a popular boy, and it is clear that, as in any cliché, their paths crossed. When Seungmin is hired to babysit Minho's cats, he definitely didn't expect the three of them to adopt him and force the two to put joint custody into practice. The expectation is that they would act like real separated parents, but Seungmin begins to realize that his heart doesn't have the same plans for him.

A man's voice filters through the telephone speaker but Seungmin doesn’t recognize it, swiveling to look over his shoulder as if he could find the culprit.
“Jisung-ah?” the voice asks and Seungmin comes back to himself, posture straightening as he clears his throat.
“No, sorry,” he says, wincing a little at how reedy his voice sounds. “I think you might have the wrong number.”
“Ah,” the man replies. “Well, do you want to see it with me then? Invitation’s open.”(or Minho keeps calling the wrong number and Seungmin keeps answering despite it all)

The realization of the permanence of the scar left them with a complex mixture of emotions, from shock to the fear of the unknown to resentment.
