Buck’s not really sure what to say here, so he doesn’t say anything. For a minute they stand there in total silence, the TV muted, and looking at Eddie – the defeated slump of his shoulders, the hand over his mouth, the eyes staring blankly at nothing – it’s like those modern art installations one of Buck’s exes used to take him to: Man, with broken heart.
Man, eviscerated.
Buck’s no good with people being sad around him – it always feels like his responsibility, like if they aren’t smiling it’s his fault, and this time it really is his fault, at least partially, so he offers, “You can beat me up, if it would make you feel better.”

The Bridgertons are all jetting off to the Scottish Highlands for Christmas and Penelope Featherington is coming with them this year. She's a close family friend and gets along famously with each and every member (young and old) with one significant exception-- the third eldest son, Colin Bridgerton. They may have been best friends as children, but now, in their mid and late twenties, they couldn't be further from friends. These days they can't even be in the same room with one another without trading verbal jabs that intensify steadily until someone literally has to pull them apart. After a lot of deliberation, though, Penelope accepts Violet's invitation despite this fact. Nur eine kleine Geschichte, in der es heiß ist und trotzdem viel regnet, in der Pia eine Chatgruppe erstellt und Esther im Verhörmodus ist, in der Adam den Schrank nicht zumacht und Leo auch schon da ist, in der Leo eine komische Idee hat und Adam Rückenschmerzen, in der Leo träumt und Adam auch, in der nicht viel geredet wird und irgendwann dann doch, in der Adam so richtig schön besoffen ist und Saarbrücken sehr weit weg, in der Adam mal fragt und Leo einfach macht. Und in der am Ende dann schließlich irgendwie alles okay ist.
