After Nick and Jess breakup, Jess decides she can't live in the loft anymore. She moves out immediately and cuts all contact with Nick, only seeing him once at Cece and Schmidt's wedding. Ten years later, the guys have moved out of the loft, but still stay friends. Schmidt and Cece are married with kids, Winston became a cop and married his partner, and Nick had a kid with an ex who left him in the dust after his daughter was born. It's Nick's daughter's first day of kindergarten and he's picking her up when he sees her teacher, the last person he thought he'd ever see - Jessica Day. How will the two adjust to knowing the other person is now going to be a constant in each other's lives, at least for the next year? And what will happen when Nick and Jess come to realise that, just maybe, letting each other go was the dumbest thing they've ever done?
