It was a typical day at the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, humming with quiet productivity. Of course, the hum was punctuated by the office's usual peculiarities.
Phones rang intermittently, conversations murmured off the drab walls, and coffee's faint, bitter aroma mingled with the tang of printing ink that seemed permanently embedded in the air.
Employees sat at their desks, tapping away on keyboards, making sales calls, or pretending to do something productive while scrolling through their phones.
In other words, it was business as usual.
What most people didn’t know, not even Pam, was that Jim Halpert wasn’t just a charming paper salesman with a penchant for practical jokes. He was entirely different by night—or sometimes by day, depending on the situation's urgency.
To a select few, he was Jack Ryan, a CIA analyst turned reluctant field operative and a man who had faced life-or-death situations that would make even Dwight’s wildest survivalist fantasies seem laughable and tame.
After all, being a paper salesman was only half the job; for Jack, it was just how he liked it.
