THE BUSAN BUTCHER STRIKES AGAIN
“You moved from Busan just in time, Jungkookie,” Hobi assures, gaze drifting over to the youngest. “Since that serial killer guy is on the loose there.”
“Serial killer? My mom hasn't mentioned anything about that.” Jimin swishes around the soju in his glass.
“Yeah, five bodies in the last year. All of them decapitated. They gave him a catchy English name… The uh, Busan Badguy? The Busan…”
“The Busan Butcher” comes Jungkook’s steely correction, his long fingers gripping the liquor bottle in his hands exceptionally tight.
Jimin can't help but remember the night he saw those fingers coated in blood. His gaze wanders up to Jungkook’s face and the younger stares right back, eyes like tar.
Jimin is playing with a fire he doesn't know how to put out.

This is hands down one of the darkest and most scintillating fics I've ever read - there were parts that I actually stopped reading to gasp at before diving back in because the writing was so compelling I couldn't put it down. I will never look at "Stigma" or "Boy Meets Evil" the same way again...

“Did you mean it?” Jimin asked. He forced lightness into his tone like air into a balloon, wishing this whole mess would pick up and fly away.
Hesitation. He sat up, drew his legs together, turned around. Jeongguk was sitting with his legs crossed and he stared down at his lap, hair flattened with sweat.
“Did you mean it?” Jimin repeated sweetly. “When you told me not to touch you anymore? When you told me six months meant nothing?”

“It’s a Pride march,” Jimin said, quieter, and Jeongguk didn’t know what to say.
Seoul had a queer festival, he knew. It had grown slowly, bit by bit, pushing its way up. He had seen some of it on TV, protestors yelling and screaming. It had made his throat feel tight so he’d turned it off. He still got surprised by how loud the West was sometimes, with rainbow frappuccinos and Call Me by Your Name (he hadn’t watched it but he’d listened to the soundtrack and he’d felt like he could glimpse the edges of something gentle and ephemeral) and ‘LOVE IS LOVE’ slogans on everything from t-shirts to yoga mats.
“Their prime minister goes, Jeonggukie,” Jimin said, still quiet, face still shielded by the sheet mask.
“Oh, that’s nice,” Jeongguk said automatically, because it was nice.
“Do you want to go?”

Reaper 800 does not remember what mortal sin he committed. None of the Grim Reapers do. He does not remember being Connor, and he does not remember how he is connected to Hank's own forgotten past. He does not think about endings much at all.
