Summary
Dwight felt himself drawn in, like prey to the glowing lure of an anglerfish, as the dread crept up his spine. The room was empty. He swore the tendril had gone this way--it was right in front of his face. Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted, and a heavy presence rose from the wall behind the door as it swung shut. He took a step back as the cream mask melted into view.
“What are you doing?” Ghostface sighed. He was leaning against the peeling wallpaper with his arms crossed and his head tilted in disapproval. His knife tapped against his shoulder. It reminded Dwight of the dripping faucet.
Dwight’s adrenaline pulsed through him, and the invigorating sound of the gravelly voice only made his heartbeat race, matching the knife's rhythm. “Watching you.”

Summary
David had always cared for Dwight, in his own quiet way. Something about the earnest leader stirred a deep, instinctive need to protect him. He’d never acted on it, and never known if Dwight could feel the same, so running from his feelings had become second nature. But when they’re thrown into another trial together, survival forces them into dangerous, intimate proximity. David is pushed to confront everything he’s been avoiding. As the lines between affection, fear, and survival blur, David must decide if he’s just protective of his teammate, or if what they have is actually something more.
