Summary
At the mountain’s height, they are made to look back. Behind lie their Empire, the heartland and the north, forts and citadels, the abodes of men for whom others have bled and will bleed again. But who can bind lovers with law, when love is the first faith, self-breathed and self-burning? And within its bounds, citadels rise and rise again, even as they lie crumbling…
