Dazai was happy. Well, not really, given his lifestyle and psychological setup, but he was as happy as one could be in the mafia. He had friends, a partner, a life never boring. And yet, things were not okay. But as long as he has the people he loves close to him, then he will keep pushing on.
That's what he believed, until he was offer an interesting deal...
This is my take on what happened during the Dark Era, mixed with some theories about the plot that have not yet been resolved!

Summary
A rapid infection, the doctor later explains. The odds were less than 15% that Dazai’s body would be able to fight it off. And, even if he did miraculously survive that, walking would be unbelievably painful, with the breaks he sustained. It would hurt every step, and radiate up. He’d always need a mobility aid. Maybe it would turn out he’d need it amputated anyway.
The choice was logical, in Dazai’s mind. Keep your patient alive, albeit with a small cost, or risk him almost surely dying just to have him be in pain for the rest of his days with his mobility affected more than it would’ve if the limb was gone.
He understands it. If he was in the doctor’s shoes, he would’ve done the same.
Then why does he feel so bad?

Summary
This is my first story so there will be errors.
Growing up is something everyone wants to go through until you realize what that means. The anxiety many go through is especially hard on Chuuya.
Causing him to lash out at his childhood friend Dazai Osamu, leading to an incident he isn't fond of remembering. Years passed, and Chuuya now gets to be around someone who shares dazai's name but couldn't be more diffrent.
Could it be the same person and if so what happened to him.

The word was soft, hoarse, wheezed between shallow gasps, and Chuuya paused.
This wasn’t real, right?
Or, Chuuya is used to Dazai pulling shit on their missions, but he's not used to saving Dazai from evil champagne.
