Summary
The Beacon Hills crew head out to Las Vegas for Lydia and Jackson’s joint bachelor/bachelorette the weekend before their nuptials. Stiles is feeling a bit third (or fifth) wheel. It doesn’t help that the New York, New York rollercoaster is a two seater— at least if it was three he could sit with one of the couples.
Except, maybe it’s for the best when he hears someone behind him say softly in his ear “I’m afraid of roller coasters.”
AKA— The one were Derek is afraid of heights but determined to get on the rollercoaster. And... will maybe.. ask the stranger seated beside him if he can hold his hand.

“C’mere, Buck,” He says, voice just a little bit hesitant, arm outstretched, inviting.
“Why can’t you see my side! I draw the fucking line at you and Chris!” There are tears in Buck’s eyes.
“Don’t get hurt. Please don't get hurt. Not for me,” He begs, voice stained with years of wounds that scab over but never heal.
He wants to tell him that the blood thrums in his veins with a promise to protect, heal, keep, embrace.

“Yes, you asked him on a date” Christopher explains as if it was obvious, silly daddy.
“I… I asked him on a date?” Eddie asks, still very confused.
“You did Dad, just now.”

Eddie looked from the package that he now was aware contained a remote vibrator, and Buck, who looked more and more insane in Eddie’s eyes by the second.
“Fun?” he hissed and shoved the package under the table in fear that someone would notice and somehow see through the box.
“Yeah, man. You can discover the joy of the prostate,” Buck replied like it was nothing.
or Buck gifts Eddie a vibrator as his goodbye gift and Eddie somehow becomes Buck's personal fidget toy, not that he minds.

And, here, looking at his best friend, he can see that something’s broken inside him, too. And, maybe it’s the therapy he’s had over the years, his sessions with Frank, but Eddie wants to talk to Buck. He wants Buck to talk to him. Buck, who just looks so fucking sad, still in his dress blues, one hand drinking the beer, the other coming up to loosen his tie.
This morning, Eddie had noticed Buck tying, untying, retying the tie with breaths of frustration, fingers shaking. “Eddie,” he’d said lowly from across the room, and Eddie wouldn’t have even heard him if he hadn’t been watching. “I, uh, can never – I can never get this right.”
