Doctor Veritas Ratio wasn’t one to indulge in his emotions. He’d preferred to love from afar, as he did the majority of the time. Whether it be platonically or romantically, he kept his emotions to himself. Especially when it came to Aventurine. He’d learned early on that the other has walls up for defense, that his half-truths and full lies were all to keep those walls strong.

In the dim light, he saw a figure.
"D- Danheng?" Caelus’s breath hitched, his eyes widening in shock. A man sat in meditation, his entire form bound by chains that anchored him to the walls of the room, securing him in place.
For a moment, Caelus was certain it was Danheng. The resemblance was uncanny, but then a moment of realization reached him.
"Ah, wait, no... Danfeng!" He corrected himself, his heart still racing. Of course, it couldn’t be his Danheng.

Short version:
Caelus time travels back into the past in the shackling prison and meets Danfeng by chance, he turned out to be an asshole even though he's meant to be Danheng's previous reincarnation. They're nothing alike, how could they be related to each other? That jerk!–

“I’ve had my rights violated is what I am,” Caelus groans in response. He props himself up on an elbow and pinches the bridge of his nose. Why is it so bright? It hurts his eyes. “What gives?”
“I was getting worried,” March says. “You’ve been asleep for the past ten system hours, but even before that you were only awake for like, three.”
OR
Caelus syncs himself up with Dan Heng’s mating cycle. He did not know they were mating.

Summary
The Archives were a total mess—books scattered everywhere, some of the servers had reset themselves, and notes with scribbles and symbols he didn't recognize were pinned to a board against the wall.
But in the middle of it all sat Dan Heng, head in his hands as he mumbled incoherently, not even sparing Caelus a glance. He probably didn't even hear him coming in.
“Dan Heng?” The Trailblazer spoke softly as he took a tentative step forward.
Or,
Caelus has begun to notice some strange changes ever since their return from the Xianzhou Luofu. Dan Heng has become much more reclusive in his room in the Archives and refuses to go out unless strictly necessary. It isn't until a scream in the middle of the night wakes him that Caelus decides to take action.

Then Sunday began to hum. Quietly at first, then a little louder. As the melody became a song with gentle words, Aventurine felt the grief and anguish begin to ease. The harmony of Sunday’s music felt like a tangible thing, wrapping around him like golden light, and the weight that he carried on his shoulders, the trauma and suffering and sorrow, was lifted away.
He hadn’t realized how much pain he had been in, every moment of every day, until it was gone and he could barely breathe for the relief.
or: Sunday uses the Harmony to ease Aventurine’s emotional pain and trauma. But the effect only lasts a short time, and the repercussions are beyond what either of them expected.

“Well, you certainly can’t blame me for hoping, can you?” Aventurine lets out a short laugh, making sure to keep his tone light. “Rest assured, though, that I am willing to do whatever it takes for you to trust me. Just name your price.”
“Even if I asked you to get on your knees and beg?”
The words come out so easily, so casually that Aventurine almost doesn’t process them at first. When he does, he barely manages to keep his mouth from falling open, and it’s by some miracle that he catches his eyebrows before they fly right off his forehead.
So Sunday likes to feel big and powerful. Go figure.
Aventurine gets that bread and gives some head, not necessarily in that order.

He stared at the hand in Ratio’s gentle hold, he stared at it too hard that it slowly felt like it wasn’t his. “Why are you doing this?” His lips trembled. He wanted to say so many things yet none of them had the courage to leave the tip of his tongue, he wanted to ask why Ratio would waste his attention on someone as useless as him, there was nothing Ratio would gain from doing this. In his current state, there’s nothing he could offer to the doctor, or did he want Aventurine to owe him one?
He truly didn’t like feeling like this, especially in front of someone else. (More especially in front of the doctor himself.)
Aventurine learns to allow himself to be loved. Ratio learns to express his feelings, through different means.
