Gonky is a stray cat instead of a broken droid, and his adventures with wildlife, dumpsters, and beloved Batch characters deserve to be catalogued.
This was inspired by the incredible fic Roasted, Brewed & Served with Attitude, created by the lovely MelMorganne99. It is one of the best fics I've ever read, hands down, and if you have not had the pleasure of following along on her chapter updates, you should do yourself a favor and check it out now! She has created a wonderful modern AU with her barista OC, Ryka, where the Batch boys are all police officers and the story of TCW and TBB is retold in a very satisfying way.
Gonky shows up as an adorable gray tabby cat in Mel's story, and I couldn't help but start to imagine snippets in Gonky's life to fill in his backstory and adventures he had before and after Ryka gave him a home.
NOTE FOR POTENTIAL SPOILERS: I am borrowing Mel's versions of each character, a few mentions of her OC, Ryka, and her overall plot points. All credit goes to her for her depictions of these characters in a modern AU format.

After chapter 85 of her fic I couldn't get Tech's reaction to Crosshair's betrayal and return out of my head, and had to give my boy Tech some time to process. This serves as an alternate scene before chapter 87 of Roasted and Brewed.

“No new bacteria detected,” Gale went on, “Ruling out food poisoning.”
“Oh, Gods,” Astarion groaned. “And to think that these things are what’s sending our workforce into a tizzy. What next, 'droid? Are you about to give me a rectal examination too?”
