TLDR; Mary gives birth to twins while on the run and then dies, leaving Neil to care for his siblings while also keeping them hidden and safe from his father. Neil is the one Nathaniel wants, but he knows that doesn’t mean the twins are safe from his wrath.

“Ignore it, focus on yourself for a change” he says in a tone I’ve heard quite a lot. It’s the tone he would use when speaking to mom when she was sick. That tone hasn’t come out since she died, he’s closed off since but I know he still cares about me. I don’t like hearing the tone directed at me though. I’m not like her, I’m not dying, I’m perfectly fine. Sure I have nightmares, sure I had an evil demon possess me and kill hundreds of people but I’m over it! Okay I’m not over it but I’ve learned to accept it, I can’t change the past although I would trade anything to do so.
