“Oi. Eggplant,” Zeff growled, surprising Sanji. “You’re not in trouble; I was just curious.”
Sanji opened his mouth and closed it.
“You were speaking different languages. Last night but also back on the rock.” Zeff spoke gently, Sanji didn’t know what his expression was, he couldn’t look at him yet. “I only knew one or two of them myself, but anyone can tell when someone is asking for help no matter what language they speak.”
Sanji closed his eyes.
“I-I don’t know.” He kept his hands in his hair. “I don’t know how many languages I know. I just know them. I can’t explain why.”

When Sanji starts to come back to consciousness and feels a soft warm bed, instead of the cold, hard dungeon ground,
And fingers running through his hair, instead of the heavy, iron helmet,
He comes to the only logical conclusion: he’s dead.
When he opens his eyes, expecting to see his mother, but is instead greeted by huge owl-like eyes blinking down on him,
He still believes that the only logical conclusion is that he’s dead.
or; A de-aged Sanji fic because I’ve read all of them and still need more. Desperate times am I right?

Zeff froze halfway through wiping the counter“…Of course you’re fine. Why wouldn’t you be fine, you little twit?”
He tried to sound annoyed, but his chest had already gone tight. That phrase — don’t freak out — never came before anything good.
“You see…” Sanji’s voice wavered, seeming small and guilty like the time he almost burned his room down while testing new cooking techniques in his room ! “I was, um, kinda in an accident.”
The rag slipped from Zeff’s hand.
“You WHAT.”
