Summary
After the fight in the grocery store, Buck feels like he's causing too much damage so he drops the lawsuit and leaves LA, joining a hotshot wildland firefighter crew out of Montana. He's gone for six months until he gets a call from Chris that something is wrong with Eddie, causing him to race back home only to find a very confused Eddie instead of a hurt or depressed Eddie. Eddie talks him into coming inside for a beer and after that Buck can't bring himself to leave the Diaz boys behind again. But that doesn't mean he's ready to talk to anyone else yet. So they just don't tell anyone else Buck is back. For over two years. Even when they start dating.
Three years after he left LA and the 118, there's a pileup on the 210 in La Tuna Canyon Park and a wildfire racing towards all the crews scrambling desperately to get everyone out in time, including the 118. Buck's crew is in the right place at the right time, and they don't hesitate to come help.

Panic all over his face, he looked between Chris and Eddie. “What’s going on?”
“So… just so that we’re on the same page,” Buck whispered, trying to remain collected, but looking at Chris, “you didn’t call your grandparents, right?”
“What? No!” Chris replied at the same volume, looking between Buck and Eddie with horror.

Summary
In which Eddie meets a mysterious (but absolutely gorgeous) man while working out at the park, and wants to get to know him better. Little does he know, Evan Buckley is one of the biggest models in LA at that very moment.

Eddie noticed him the first day he went to that park. Well, he was pretty hard to miss. For one thing, he sped right past him like they were characters in ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’ (one of his son’s favorite books when he was younger), with Eddie being the tortoise, of course. And for another, he was wearing, well, very little. A pair of shorts and a pair of running shoes, and that was all.He noticed him the second day he went, too. This time, it was Eddie that passed him. He was sitting on a bench, frowning at something on his phone. Eddie was ashamed to say that he slowed down, ever so slightly (OK, a lot, changing from a full-on sprint to a jog) when he noticed him. But really, who could blame him? This guy was gorgeous.
NOTE - Forced kissing/assault in chapter 11. Chapter is skippable.
