Summary
A prequel to Sachiko's Ties.
Ochako has had it with being neglected in her relationship with Izuku. He's always away on business, working too much, or meeting other heroes. He has no time for her and absent-mindedly ignores her. Her love for him is waning, but she wants it to work. It wasn't until new year's that she noticed just how fun Bakugou Katsuki could be. But surly he's too busy to be a friend, let alone someone to pine over.
Katsuki concentrates on his hero work 60%, his best friend 35%, and sex 5%. He's been bored with one night stands for a while, and getting off is numb and bland. Why bother? His life is like a garden being shoveled up. He's so stressed, but noticing Uraraka Ochako makes his heartbeat a little faster. Why does she have to be so cute, so funny, so gorgeous, but taken? She's the only one who can make him feel like he's living outside of work. Fuck, why did she have to be Deku's girl?

“You’re the first guy friend I’ve had that I can just like, be friends with. You’re either the most unthirstiest boy ever...” Camie shrugged and made another wobbly illusion appear between her hands. It looked like a sparkly rainbow with the word ‘friendship’ beneath it, accompanied by what Bakugou assumed was supposed to be a twinkling sound effect, but it had a tinny quality to it and sounded far away. “...or I just ain’t got the kinda straw you like to ssssip.”
Carefully, Bakugou considered the strange turn this conversation had taken.
He had never been asked, point blank, if he was gay before. And he honestly had never thought about how he would respond. Lying about himself didn’t sit right with him. But he’d always wanted to wait until he was the number one hero - when he stood above everyone else - before coming out. Though he’d had times when he’d thought about doing it before then and had almost gone through with it once. But being the number one hero came first. It wouldn’t matter what people would say about it then as long as he’d risen to the top.
Bakugou knew his lack of a response would give Camie all the answers she needed.

Being second was fine.
No, really. Kirishima didn't mind too much, he was used to it. He never really liked standing out. In middle school, he tried to be more outgoing, but there was nothing too special about dark black hair and a not-so-flashy hardening quirk. With the extensive amount of effort he put in, Kirishima even managed to place second during the U.A. entrance exam, and that was more than enough for him. Changing himself didn’t work either because even with red hair and a new persona, it wasn't like he suddenly became number one.
That spot belonged to Bakugou. Confident, brash, explosive. The boy who glowed so brightly to him. First at the entrance exam. First in the sports festival. First in everything.
Especially to Kirishima.
