I knew it when it was impossible for it to be in front of me. I knew it faked and warped and desecrated and delusional and spitting mad. I knew it when it killed me to know it, to believe it to be true—”
“Describe it,” Dick challenges.
“I knew his face three years dead beneath a domino. I knew it as he carved a chunk of flesh from his own scalp and cursed my name…” His fingertips drift to a spot two inches behind his ear. Is that uneven texture the sign of a years-old scar, or just a tangle of hair?
(Or: Jason and Bruce get bodyswapped. It takes two full days for anyone to point it out to them.)

Summary
Jason sweeps the toddler up into his arms, his expression amused as the boy squeals gleefully and squirms in his hands. “Little trouble maker,” he murmurs, voice raspy from disuse, but he is getting better with his words each day.
Damian’s tiny, chubby hands plant firmly on Jason’s cheeks, eyes bright as he stares up at the boy like he hung the stars. “‘Akh!” he claims loudly.
Jason’s whole face melts into something unbearably fond. He kisses Damian’s cheek just to hear the boy laugh again, taking pride that he was able to produce a sound so pure. “Yes. It’s ‘akh.”
Or, Damian doesn't remember much about when Jason Todd was in the League of Assassins with him. Jason does, and he remembers it fondly

Summary
Dick drops in through the window expecting a normal night. What he gets is Jason, cross-legged on the floor, eyes glazed over, watching SpongeBob with the intensity of someone decoding ancient prophecy.
Jason is high. Very high.
He greets Dick with a dazed nod and immediately launches into a half-baked rant about systemic racism in Bikini Bottom. Dick stands there, halfway in the room, trying to decide if he should be concerned, amused, or take notes.
This isn’t even the weirdest thing Jason’s done lately. But it might be top five.
