    But because she needed time.
    To think.
    To plan.
    To figure out exactly how deep the Commission’s claws ran—

    Kaia needed time if she wanted to keep everyone she loved safe. She's done things she's not proud of and had no way out. She's kept everyone in the dark - even Katsuki. Then, pieces of the puzzle come into place and she discovers there's an infestation and the root of the problem needs to be exterminated. She has to act fast before the weight of what she's done comes crashing down on her
