Lan Qiren stopped him, catching his arm and pulling him upwards, his hand seeming to Jiang Cheng’s perception to be blazing hot where it touched his skin. “I have already told you to stop with that,” he chided, though quite gently, and that hot feeling spread over the rest of Jiang Cheng’s skin, right up to his neck. “It has already become tiresome, and you can’t keep it up forever, now that I am staying here.”

Where Lan Wangji is ordered to take on a concubine to produce heirs. He does so but in Lan Wangji fashion everyone regrets making him do so and letting him choose.
Wei Wuxian is definitely the principal wife in every way but officially.
Where the sects imploded rather than ended up in outright war, there might be less large scale death but that doesn't mean it isn't messy.

Summary
Jiang Cheng wrote three times a year for over a decade and a half requesting that Lan Sizhui come and visit. Suddenly, Lan Sizhui finds himself in the home of the father he'd forgotten, but surrounded by his things. With the relics left behind by a man shoved into shadows by an awful war, Sizhui has to figure out who his father was and why people refuse to say his name. Lán Wàngjī has heard stories, from a variety of sources, but he's never been interested in the brash, disaster of a human being he hears about at least once a week. Things change when Jīn Zixuān is sent on a mission to purchase a heartfelt gift for Jiāng Yànlí's gremlin of a little brother (Jīn Zixuān's words, not his,) and he has no idea what to get him. Lán Wàngjī, as Jīn Zixuān's best friend, has been dragged along. Lán Wàngjī expects this to be an arduous journey. What he doesn't expect, is to develop a growing interest in said gremlin.

Nie Mingjue has known since he inherited the Nie Sect leadership after his father’s murder, that he would die horribly and enraged as his own qi destroyed him. Looking at Wei Wuxian happily dandling a toddler on his knee, makes him consider if maybe that final qi deviation was not a foregone conclusion after all.
