“I know Jacob” His voice is soft, wavering.

Rather than breaking his bones, the Newborn vampire that Jacob attempts to fight to save Leah pierces his neck. Edward tries to suck the venom out before the damage is done.
He succeeds but only makes things worse.
And Jacob is the one who suffers because of it.
