The new school year began with two less Hosts than before- Honey and Mori graduated. Kauro finally shared with Hikaru his theory about the pumpkin, the fairytale that kept them together. Their family. He started to wonder if the carriage they were in was breaking.
Cherry blossoms fluttered overhead as the twins made their way onto campus, the familiarity of its pink architecture and the chiming of bells beckoning them in. Hikaru basked in the sight for a moment, steeling himself to the fact that Ouran Academy as he knew it didn’t exist anymore.

Hikaru and the Hosts still have a lot of growing up to do, especially when they take on the case of the new transfer student who can't speak Japanese to save her life. Maybe, just maybe, Hikaru can learn to look out for someone other than himself and his brother for a change.(Set-post Ouran Anime with inspiration from the Manga, but there are some creative liberties in character development and plot moving forward.)

Summary
Inspired by the first season of Gav VA's Starline series found on YouTube, this work will expand outside of the existing episodes to flesh out the characters or introduce more fluff to this incredible Strangers to Lovers ASMR experience! After listening to this story, I wanted to create something so other people could read more about Breckett, and I may create an alternative ending set during/after episode 7!
Please watch the series first, because I won't rewrite all the dialogue in each episode out of respect for the original work. Each chapter will take place before or after each episode, and the chapter titles will tell you where we are in the story.
Also! I'm going to do my best writing the reader-insert as gender-neutral and unspecified as possible, and will write about Breckett's physique in a similar way, so everyone can imagine him looking however you please! If I mess up anywhere, please forgive me and let me know so everyone can enjoy this work equally! Breckett will be written as masculine-coded, as I think that is implied in the original work. -

After a decade as a detective prodigy, a teenage L finds himself in New England pursuing cases across the sea. Seeking out a pastry shop in the snow, L meets a young woman on the street that won't leave his mind. When he sees her again at the scene of a murder, he knows he has a new fixation to chase.
A reader-insert story set pre-Kira, where an eighteen year old L sets a new headquarters in America after establishing his career in England. A slow burn story exploring L and the reader's relationship as friends and maybe as more. The reader has a complex background that is slowly revealed over the course of the story, and is female-coded, so it may be limiting to some reader's appeal. Discusses dark subjects such as murder, homelessness, human trafficking, and abuse. These topics are handled in a canon-typical manner, but proceed with caution if these topics may trigger you, each chapter will have warnings at the beginning.
(Let me know if L seems too out-of-character at any point! It's difficult imagining a teenage L awkwardly dealing with romance and still keep him aligned with his actions/personality in Death Note.)
