Summary
When the world was created, everything spoke one language. Wind spoke to the hawk, the snail to the stone, the trees to the lakes. Then people, of all races and persuasions, began to walk the planes, and as they took control over the lands the words they spoke to each other became so powerful that the balance broke. From then on, creatures could only understand those of their own kind, and it has remained this way for as long as anyone can remember.

Six, Wilbur was revived a hell of a lot more reasonable than anyone thought and decided to fuck off into the woods rather than kill anyone.
Seven, Tubbo has nukes, so if reasons four, five, and six turn out to be untrue, Tubbo can fix that real quick.

Like all the days before, Ranboo walks into the kitchen right as the clock turns a quarter into daytime and smiles pleasantly when he notices Tubbo leaning against the counter. Strike that, then. The boss’s new secbots are not secbots. They’re retrofitted warbots, and Karl might be sort of kind of a little bit ish in love with one of them.
It's hard to know for sure. His new employer installed him with memory wiping software to account for the sensitive information he handles, which has definitely put a cramp in his game. Also his new employer might actually be a terrifying interstellar mob boss or something, but hey! It's not all bad.
The boss's ship is a biotech marvel, building up and knocking down new biomes daily, like castles in the sand. There are mysteries it wants Karl to uncover, and between that and the cute murder-machine that Karl may or may not be head over heels for, he just might make it out of this.
