Summary
Tao reaches over, mostly to be a shit, and pats Regis on the head. He's fully aware that doing so is like putting his hand near a rabid dog, but he really can't help himself. Really. It's a compulsion.
It has to be his imagination, but for half a tick, it almost feels like Regis leans into the pat. Then he's scowling and slapping Tao’s hand away, calling him what Tao imagines are pretty unsavory things, in his native tongue. It's so predictable that Tao can't stop his laughter, even though it hurts.
Pinwheel pipes up again, sounding incredulous. "I can't tell if this is flirting, or bear baiting."
Tao and Regis are attacked, but that isn’t stopping Tao from being a pain in the rear end.

Summary
As before, the man lays in repose, eyes closed as if asleep. His long blond hair spills off one edge of the bed - glinting dully in the bright room. Pale skin displays stark veins, crisscrossing and bulging in a way that makes the man seem… fragile.
M-21 is self conscious enough to be bothered by the illusion. Those bright blue eyes should be open, looking back at him. Full of life, knowledge, strength. He should be talking, telling M-21 exactly how this all works, sharing wisdom M-21 would never dare hope for.
Frankenstein is poisoned, and M-21 is trying his best to help.
