Summary
John Captain was used to weird shit happening. Hell, at this point, he expected it to happen.
When you and every other half-mad bastard spent your entire lives scraping by in the remains of a world decimated through means lost to time and its own destruction, it tended to inspire ‘interesting’ chaos. It was a predictable chaos at least; an Ouroboros of violence ever cyclical and neverending. If you weren’t dead, you were already leagues ahead of a dozen other schmucks before you.
A ginger kid with white eyes, a chip on his shoulder and all the worldly knowledge of a concussed rock appearing out of nowhere and becoming a thorn in his side was, in fact, not a part of that predictable chaos or average, everyday brand of weird shit.
And that was only the beginning of it.
God help him, that was only the beginning of it.
