Summary
The war is over. Cybertron begins a new era of peace and life, at the cost of Optimus Prime's own spark. A noble death for the last Prime, but a great loss for many, including Ratchet.
The confusion and struggle of rebuilding society after war keeps the doctor busy in both body and mind. As the emptiness from the void Optimus left slowly takes hold of him, Ratchet can feel his own spark burning out.
Drift was dead, Deadlock was all there was left. He was a waste of a spark, his only worth was his aptitude for killing. Falling back into his old addictions, running from his past, losing what he cared about, Deadlock was ready to let go.
Neither bot was looking for a savior, both were left helpless, but upon reuniting again after many past encounters, Ratchet and the bot he knows is Drift slowly begin bringing each other hope that their future isn't destined to end in nihility.
