“It’s not a burden. Not if it’s you. Not if it’s this team.” Burden felt too strong of a word. Too brutal for what was actually going to be taking place. Optimus was a pillar of strength and comfort and heart, the glue that kept these wandering souls together. To call befriending him as something so vile felt intrinsically wrong and you weren’t going to stand for it.
If you were going to do this, you were going to do it right. No half-assing anything, fear and terror be damned. No matter what it was, you were willing to find a way to help end this conflict.

Summary
After the events of Transformers: Prime, Starscream is beaten to near-death by Predaking, leaving him completely blind. When a ground bridge suddenly opens in front of him, Starscream takes the chance at rescue and crawls through, only to find himself on the Nemesis with the remaining Autobots. Supplies are limited, and Starscream is forced to live without optics until a suitable replacement set is discovered or built from scratch. Alone, blind, without a leader to serve (or overthrow), or even a war to fight anymore, Starscream is left completely powerless for the first time, having no choice but to submit to the Autobots or take his chances on the ruins of Cybertron. Optimus Prime is dead, but the Autobots honor his spark by giving the seeker one final chance to change his ways, as they know he would have. Starscream, stripped of all of his power, is forced to face what is left, finding nothing but a husk of the mech he was before the war. Is it truly possible to change after losing so much? Or is he doomed to repeat his past mistakes?

The flier looked taken aback for a second but settled back into apprehensiveness quickly. “Faction? We do not associate with any vigilante group or pirating crew.”
It was Ratchet’s turn to be taken aback. “No, I meant- Autobot or Decepticon? Do you ally with either of them? Or are you neutrals avoiding the war?”
“War?” The flier’s optics widened more and a weakly surprised noise came from behind them (him, probably, if going off of vocal inflection). “What war? When?”
Ratchet frowned. “The civil war we’ve been fighting for four thousand years. How are you on Earth and unaware of this?”
“Four thousand… impossible. Machina was destroyed one thousand years ago.”
“Machina? ...I am from Cybertron. Have you heard of such a planet?”
“No.” The flier cocked his helm. “...I think there has been a misunderstanding. You do not look like a Metal Cardbot.”
“I most certainly am not that.”

After a shoddy teleportation attempt, the Metal Cardbots find themselves scattered, cut off from their team, and stranded in unfamiliar places.

When Team Prime's medical officer, Rachet, is injured during an experiment, Optimus Prime calls the Rescue Bots to borrow Blades to fill in as their medical officer. But Team Prime has trouble finding a way for Blades to fit in, and, worst yet, another Decepticon joins the fray of Megatron's troops. The tide of war is threatened to favor Megatron as Blades refuses to join the war front.

Why is it that Cybertronians behave so much like humans despite being of another world? The answer is far darker than one would expect. These beings from beyond the stars have their own agendas, and they are nothing like the humans they work so hard to blend in amongst. Agent Witwicky, assigned the mission of understanding these aliens, will quickly come to realize that both Autobots and Decepticons are threats that should not be underestimated.
In essence: What if Cybertronians were written to be more alien? Less cartoonishly heroic? How would things change?

This version of a previous story I used to do is redone again, but inspired by Zack Snyder's Justice League and Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and taken in a darker and grittier tone where the main themes are redemption, identity, heroism, and forgiveness as it follows 4 years into Kaitlyn's career as Batwoman and introduces the characters of Alana Pham, and many others in a world post-Project 2025 of a possible future where America struggles to regain the world's trust as the consequences are depicted in a more darker way as a new darker and grittier Justice League emerges amid the fallout and atrocities committed by enemies such as the KVA and the Decepticons (later in the story) who take advantage of the divided and weakened America as a consequence of Trump's crimes and choices.
Even with the help of Optimus Prime and the Autobots, they may be too late to prevent a extinction-level event that could determine the fate of the Earth.
