These beings stood taller than man, held strength greater than theirs, their senses heightened far beyond what man could ever boast. They came with nothing, except for their knowledge. Yet, it was not a smooth transition. Even as they promised that together; their two species would learn and prosper together, War unfolded. As a plague wracked humanity, these Anthro's fought for their very existence. Not from threats that humanity posed, but from extinction. No male anthro's had come with them. This plague that coursed through all humanity would leave all the women dead, and even a fraction of the men fell victim and died. War raged across the globe, Mankind was bridled, pushed into servitude. Yet, in the old Rockies and Appalachian Mountains of the U.S, some remnants fight.

Summary
After a night out with friends, Mike wakes up with a pounding headache on an unfamiliar park bench and no recollection of how he ended up there. As Mike gets used to life in the Anthrostate, he faces culture shock, grief at the loss of his past life, and all the challenges of navigating a relationship with an eight foot tall hyena.
