Summary
Water, given enough time and consistency, will, eventually, erode rock; and isn't that exactly what Childe had done - could do? Erode him down to his core until he's spilling emotions he didn't think he would ever be capable of again, so completely unaware, as inconspicuous as a consistent raindrop in a downpour, smile beautiful as always and eyes deeper than the ocean - the abyss, and Zhongli wants nothing more than to scoop him up in his arms and whisper every confession, every secret he's buried underneath layers upon layers of rock, and stone, and contracts.
//or a fic in which zhongli sits underneath a tree and has many realisations about himself (and his feelings for a certain ginger harbinger)

Summary
The boy was there, the same one, the one with the brown hair and the dark eyes, and moves that were just as enthralling as ever, and even if he wanted to, Dream knew that he couldn’t move his eyes away no matter how hard he tried
He danced with the grace of the leaves in autumn, moments before they were whisked away with the wind, a drawn out moment of eternalised beauty, encapsulated within a boy. Concepts such as mortality could never have graced the lips of such virtue, and he almost felt the need to hold his breath, as though a single stray gust would, much like the wind, snatch this moment away, and send the boy clattering to the ground in shards of thousands of tiny pieces.

Summary
He knew then, more than he had known at any previous time, that he had really and truly lost him. That the boy who’d hummed sweet symphonies into his ear, whose laugh had rung out like thousands of tiny bells, the boy who’d marvelled at rocks and conjured up pretty shells just for him was gone, replaced by an entity consumed by divinity, coated and cloaked in an ice that stung in an electric blue. Knew that, as he stood in the rubble of what dream would call ‘divinity’ and what he would call ‘imprisonment’ that there was no turning back. Not now, not ever, and that maybe despite everything, this had been inevitable all along.

Summary
George had never seen the stars, had only ever heard stories about the millions of tiny pinpricks of light that used to litter the sky in the dark. They were beautiful, they were glorious, and he had to choke back a sob as he felt himself extend his hand to the sky - wanting nothing more than to move closer, to lose himself in between them, to entwine his hand around the velvety fabric of the night, and pull it closer to him, until it encased him completely, until he wasn't sure where he ended and the stars began.
For the first time in his life, he was rendered truly and utterly speechless.

Summary
Sounds, echoes, whispers. Who was he? What did he do? “I mourned you long before you died, Wilbur.” Tommy told him once. What did that mean? What had he done? “Do you know what that does to a person?” He was sorry, he was so sorry. Are you? a voice asked, and it sounded like him, except mangled, wrong. Yes he replied, to no one in particular, maybe more so to himself. What had he done? Maybe he just wouldn’t let himself remember.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.

Quite possibly one of the sweetest things I’ve ever read. There are honest to god tears in my eyes and a warm lump in my chest. I’ll return to this sometime on a rainy afternoon curled up in bed with a cup of something warm.

Summary
“Kim,” you say, and he blinks at you in the middle of putting out his hand. “There’s something fucked up going on.”
“You must be from the 41st. I’m Lieutenant Kim Kitsuragi—though you seem to know that already.” He seems tense, for some reason—and his hand is still out. “I’m afraid I wasn’t told who you are.”
“It’s me, Harry! Kim, don’t you remember me? Fuck, there’s something really wrong happening.”
“If you’re referring to the dead body that has been hanging from a tree for seven days—then yes, I agree. It is pretty wrong.” Kim is looking at you with his mouth slightly pursed. There’s no recognition in his eyes—he looks at you like you’re a stranger.
“This can’t be happening." Kim clears his throat.
“You are clearly going through… something. But I would appreciate it if we could focus on the case for the moment.”
“Oh my god,” you say. “We did it already, Kim, but for some reason I’m the only one who remembers! This is some—some cosmic joke from the universe, I’ll tell you that.”
“Okay,” Kim says, slowly. “I’m going to give you a moment while I talk to the manager. You’re going to sit down and sort out whatever it is you’re doing. And then we’re going to take down that corpse.”

Summary
Maybe in Night Vale, where everything else works a little bit wrong, love works a little wrong too. Maybe in Night Vale, where time occasionally stands on end and gravity pulls slightly less than usual every second Thursday, someone like Cecil, a love like Cecil's, could come without any strings attached at all.

OH I KNOW YOU! Beautiful work, as always by this author, who has perhaps just always been my favourite author. But the way this was written was fantastic, even the radio segments sounding like they genuinely could just be in an episode of nightvale. And the way they write Cecil and Carlos <33 absolutely stunning

Summary
The year is 1912, and one angel and one demon's lives are about to change forever as they embark on the fateful maiden voyage of the R.M.S. Titanic - and a relationship utterly forbidden by both Heaven and Hell.
Rating and warnings for Chapter 13, the rest being far more mild. Some slight amendments to the 2011 FanFiction version, nothing major.
Once again, I apologise to the fandom for reading a comedy and writing a tragedy.

I remember coming across this fic back in 2019 when I first watched the show, before I had even read the book (before I would come to realise just how important this fandom would remain to me) I promised myself I would read it but never got around to it, and every summer for the next 4 years I would open up this tab, and then forget. But 4 years later I finally read it and holy fuck was that an experience. It was beautiful and so painfully devastating. The most emotionally ruining thing I’ve read in a while, short yet so impactful. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same person I was before I read this.

Man begets man begets The Tales of Men, and there's nothing godly in that; Those Above and Them Below haven't any need for the stories humans have been hungry for since the snake and the Angel with the flaming sword.

Bookmarker's Notes
Fucking hell this was hands down the most beautiful thing I’ve ever read.
I come back to this every few months, my words can never do justice the sheer impact this fic has had on my life. Every time I read it I notice something new and I can barely get through the first paragraph without my eyes filling with tears from the sheer beauty I find in this. Some things have to be spoken to even do justice the sheer enormity they carry and this fic is the epitome of this. It’s my favourite in the sense I’m doing a creative writing degree in the hopes that one day perhaps I can leave an impact on someone’s life the way this fic did on mine, it’s my favourite in the sense that no matter what fandom I’m in I will consistently return to this, it’s my favourite in the sense that I have it memorised almost word for word and will recite parts to people when they ask me for my favourite piece of literature.
I don’t think I will ever be over this fic, I’ll be old and grey and still think about it. It’s been 5 years now of me coming back to this and I doubt it will ever stop. Really I just want to say thank you to the author for creating something so incredibly poetic and filled with the same beauty I find otherwise only in sunsets.
