“You're stuck with me now, so, better get used to it,” Peter had said, and Erik had begun to believe that after ten years of isolation, he had finally lost his mind.
When it comes to Peter, everything is fast. In less than five minutes, Erik had been properly informed that he had a son, that said son thought he was “absolutely off the shits, but, whatever”, had been provided with evidence that he was the father, and then informed that his son would be sticking around.
Erik keeps staring at him like he's not real.
“Uh-oh,” Peter says, having noticed Erik's silence for the past twenty seconds. “I feel like I broke you.”
Or, how Erik bonds with his son, gets back together with Charles, and continues to fight for mutants. Not in that order.

Prompt: "So, Peter told Raven. Raven told Storm. Jean is psychic and dating Scott. Kurt is Raven's son. Soon everyone is pressuring Peter or questioning why he hasn't told Erik he's his son. Peter is very self-deprecating and manages to accidentally give the impression that Erik is refusing to acknowledge him because he's not good enough. Erik is extremely baffled at all the dirty looks and cold shoulders; as well as unsure as to why conversations keep randomly turning to how awesome Peter is. Not that he disagrees, but he's a little confused on both context and emphasis and what response everyone seems to keep waiting for."
The day after Erik asks to speak with Peter alone to share a secret, he wakes up to find that everyone is suddenly furious with him for some reason. He can't figure out why he's suddenly so hated - and what does Peter have to do with any of it?
In which nobody can effectively communicate, everyone is upset, and the mutants bully Erik in the most convoluted game of telephone ever.
