Just as she was about to respond, Neuvillette planted a kiss on Wriothesley’s cheek. A filthy, shocked silence befell everyone but them.
“Ah, I was just tilting my head, Neuv,” He turned to the other beside him, tilting his chin down.
A flush resided on Neuvillette's ears and he cleared his throat with a gloved hand to his mouth, “I see. Apologies, it must've been subconscious.”
Smiling reassuringly at Neuvillette, he turned back to the other two ladies across from them, who were simply agape in shock. It was unclear to him if they were appalled or taken aback by the display of affection. PDA wasn't exactly uncommon in Fontaine, but they still exercised caution considering their positions, didn't they? Yet, Wriothesley came to the conclusion there wasn't much to be shocked about, for their relationship was commonly discussed among Fontaine’s citizens.
“You're together?!” Ah, maybe only Navia didn't know, then.
Furina nearly squealed in… delight, perhaps? “You two?!”
Maybe it wasn't such common knowledge afterall.

Summary
"A Case of Silken Strands and Bloody Murder" is a short Wriolette Fantasy AU story inspired by Jack the Ripper, featuring Officer Wriothesley falling in love with an escort of the night district named Neuvillette.
Being an officer has its ups and downs. You get to meet all kinds of new people, which is, oddly enough, one of the good things. Especially today, Wriothesley thinks, while staring into beautiful, deep purple eyes. A color so out of this world, you wouldn’t find it in any human. It almost lets him forget the reason he’s here. He shudders thinking about the mangled corpse that lies in the capable hands of his forensic assistant.
“Can I help you?” comes the smooth voice from the door, eyebrows raised, expression neutral.
“Yes, I’m Officer Wriothesley of the Marechaussee Phantom. If you don’t mind, I have a few questions about a recent murder in this neighborhood. May I come in?”

The child stopped what he was doing- which Clark can now see was slicing his sword through training bots, quickly turning to Batman. He sheathed his sword, taking a step forward, “Father.”
Clark felt his brain short circuit. Father?
Clark felt his head pound- and not just from the kryptonite. He had been flirting with a married man. A presumably married man. A widower? Whichever- Clark had been flirting with a father- who he didn’t even know was a father.
