The moon slowly came out from behind the trees, giving Satoru a better view of the man in front of him.
The new light illuminated the face's sharp features- features of a face he hasn't seen in over eight years.

Wind ruffles the broad figures long black hair, half of it tied up in a loose bun.
Satoru's breath catches.

His voice dropped to a soft whisper, eyes wide and tender—so soft that it almost hurt to look at him. “I really love you, y’know,” he said. “As long as you love me back… as long as you only look at me… I’ll do anything for you.”
Yoshiki let out a shaky breath, their lips brushing together briefly. Horrified by what this creature was but aching with a desperate longing for Hikaru, he murmured, “Don’t say that.”
“But it’s true,” Hikaru insisted, his voice barely audible. “You’re the only thing that ever made me happy. Even before I was this… even when I was just a shadow drifting on a mountain. It’s always been you.”

Turning his attention from the book he’d been browsing back to Hikaru, Yoshiki could immediately tell something was wrong.
Flushed in the face, Hikaru seemed a bit out of it. The possibility of a heat stroke in rural Japan was at an all-time high but Yoshiki had the suspicion that wasn't it.
