"Sorry Eraserhead, gotta bounce," Izuku apologized. He gripped the edge of the windowsill as he began to lower himself out. They were at least on the tenth story- not ideal- but with enough determination, he was sure he'd be able to climb down or break into someone's place and use the stairs.
"Oh absolutely not," Eraserhead huffed. A second later the capture weapon had snapped around his waist and he was being pulled right back through his escape route. "We do not climb out windows," he reprimanded.
"I've seen you climb out windows," Izuku shot back, struggling against the scarf. The thing was maddeningly indestructible.
"You do not climb out windows," he corrected, emphasizing the word 'you' like Izuku was some petulant five-year-old. "Especially after I find out you in some ally on the brink of unconsciousness."
Annoyed, he shot the hero his best scathing look. "We've gotta move past this. It happened one time."

Genre: Fanfic
Intended for those who are already very familiar with the Mass Effect games.
Timeline: 2185 CE (ME2) - 2186 CE (ME3)
- Snippets included of interview segments from further in the future, 2189 CE (3 years post Reaper Destruction), with Garrus as he reminisces on his relationship with FemShep.While this is ultimately a "Shekarian" story, I hold personally high regard for the pacing the original game designers designated. I also prefer believable friendships and romantic relationships centered around strong bonds, as opposed to hot flings.
Those two things are the main goals:
1. Maintain story integrity: (i.e. actual events in the games, and some additional influence from the comics, will be covered)
2. Flesh out the in-between moments leading to strong relationshipsFemShep will be based off my personal favorite playstyle: Infiltrator, Paragon.
All [direct and/or partial quotes] from game dialogue or comics belong to the original writers.
Please note that the timeline progression I set in this story is ~ 4 months off the official timeline of the ME stories. Realized this a little late.*casual thumbs up*

As if suddenly being separated from his sister by the hands of an unknown god wasn't bad enough, fate decides to make life even harder for Aether. Being carted off to a frozen mountain with only the clothes on his back is definitely bordering on the top of the "worst case scenario" list. Summary
Sans dedicates every waking moment of his life to keep his little brother safe, happy, and blissfully ignorant of their father's depravity. He lives for the moments he can steal away with Papyrus and pretend their life is normal, happy. But as Gaster's stranglehold on Sans' life begins to loosen, he finds more to live for. He finds himself fighting back with disastrous consequences. And for the first time he's willing to risk everything for a chance at not just surviving, but actually living.
Grillby has loved Sans from a distance, not wanting to complicate the young mans' life further. While he doesn't know the depth of Gaster's hold on Sans' psyche, he knows Sans doesn't feel safe at home and he knows the bruises he carries are deliberate. When Sans starts to butt heads with his father over the budding relationship with the gentle barkeeper, Grillby does his best to comfort and care for him; supporting him through the trials of recovery as their lives become inextricably bound together.

Summary
The town of Snowdin was always quiet and peaceful, none of the folks wanting to cause more trouble for their people since they were stuck underground already. Even so, the King had wanted to bring in a couple more sentries to the little region, and so in moved two skeletons.
Grillby enjoyed having the Dog Squad at his bar, not only were they friendly, he was able to chat and tell Doggo about what was happening around Snowdin, also getting tips he could tell his patrons in case there were any rock slides and such to make sure they were safe. It wasn't every day that new monsters moved in, so he gave them both a warm welcome and a place to rest as with everyone else. Though he is concerned and confused about Sans. They were both nice people, sure, but Papyrus did most of the talking, while Sans just stuck to pranks.
Soon though, the barman will figure out the brothers' stories, and promises to help them the best he can.

Summary
Getting to the surface, seeing the stars, and after so many years of being sealed Underground- it's truly a dream come true, and with it, perhaps Sans may finally find some peace. Well- wishful thinking be damned, because staying positive was never really his strong suit. Sans's discovery of an unnerving photograph sends him spiraling down a mental chasm, and as he obsesses over its origins, he finds there's much more to his past than what little he can remember. Will he uncover the truth that he's kept buried for so long, or will he fall victim to the monsters lurking beneath his mind's surface?
Perhaps all that one needs to escape the shadows is for an old friend to light the way.
(sans is not doing very hot. grillby is. will they make out? maybe, if sans stops seeing shadow people on the wall, because that's kind of a turn off)
PLEASE NOTE: The first few chapters were written ages ago, so they are "bad" and "not good". There's about two years of writing improvement in here, so I hope you can wade through it to get to the good stuff. I think it’s worth it (it's definitely worth it).
UPDATES ARE SLOW AF!! they're there though. i'll stop when i die probably. maybe not even then.
