Tim Drake is thirteen, runs the famous BatWatch blog that has spiraled hilariously out of control, has absentee parents that suit his purposes just fine, is training himself to run the streets at night, and is doing absolutely peachy, thank you.
Alfred and Jason disagree, and get Dick and Bruce involved in figuring out their weird nextdoor neighbor kid’s life. Everything goes uphill from there.

Summary
Some people are marked for greatness. Whether they're ready for it is another thing altogether.
Jayce isn't cut out for greatness. He's just an engineering student with too much pressure and not enough sleep. When his latest invention goes horribly wrong at a very public science fair, all he wants to do is throw himself off the observatory roof. Instead, he finds an irresistibly snarky lab assistant who understands him better than he ever could have imagined.
Viktor isn't cut out for greatness. He's just a frustrated astronomy student whose body lets him down almost as much as his peers. All he wants is some peace and quiet. Instead, he gets a clumsy golden boy with an idea almost as compelling as him.
It looks like greatness is a two-man job.

“Does the Wolf not hunt the Lamb as well?” Viktor asked, haltingly. The drink, the closeness, Jayce’s eyes. It was all a little much and Viktor was beginning to burn. “I seem to recall that being an important part of the myth.”
“Sure,” Jayce said. He was vaguely aware of their daemons moving on the other side of the room, making scuffling noises as if playing keepaway, but it was the furthest thing from his mind. “But you can’t have one without the other, and you’re the only person I’d ever want to be my Wolf.”
When Viktor opened his mouth, he intended to sound amused, to pose it as a question, a retort, but he was so warm and the curve of Jayce’s body held him just so that his brain fuzzed. It came out as a defeated admission. “And you, my Lamb.”

Jayce knew it was going to hurt when he saw the first fissure in the crystal.
His second thought was relief that he was the only one in the lab.
He felt oddly numb. He brought his hand in front of him. The effect was….unsettling. Moving quickly his body could not seem to keep itself together. Particles of his skin floated in the wake of his hand.
