    Summary

“I did not enter this marriage under grounds of love or other frivolous feelings,” Rio said, voice steady. “It was an act of duty. Nothing more.”

Agatha tilted her head, folding her arms.
“You paid quite a high price for ‘nothing more’, Your Majesty.”

Rio’s jaw twitched. Her eyes sharpened into something dangerous. Controlled but cracking.

Agatha felt it. The shift, the restraint, the want.
    She wanted to break it.
    She wanted to own it.

    OR

With the king dead and the kingdom on the brink, Princess Agatha is placed on the auction block — a pawn to be bartered for power, her hand sold to the highest bidder.

She expects a life of misery. Obedience. Silence.

She does not expect Rio Vidal. The cold, revered queen of a neighbouring realm. A warrior cloaked in shadows and secrets. A woman who seems determined to keep her at arm’s length.

Their marriage is a weapon. A wall. A vow.

But no walls are strong enough to stop what is destined to grow between them.

    Summary

Set three years after the reversal of the Sudden Oblivion (what they called the year humanity ceased to exist), Carol Sturka had finished the Wycaro series and released her new book, Starfall, a fictional story about a hive mind taking over an entire space colony. Carol's still getting used to her astounding success when she comes back into her life.

Zosia stood near the corner of the street, Starfall in hand, wearing a soft, pale yellow shirt and jeans—more casual than Carol ever remembered seeing her. Her dark hair fell just above her shoulders, slightly shorter than before, and her brown eyes seemed to light up as Carol met her gaze. She appeared to be trying, and failing, to contain her smile. It grew as Carol walked toward her, which she didn’t realize she was doing until she was so close it was unbearable. There was nothing to do but embrace her, which Carol did without thinking, the reality of it sinking in only when Zosia’s voice—soft, unmistakable—reached her.

    “Hi, Carol.”

    She remembered.
    She was here.

    Summary

Zosia wakes in a hospital with no memory of how she got there, only pain, a strange scar across her stomach, and the terrifying realization that she is pregnant.

A woman she doesn’t remember refuses to leave her side. A man with a machete watches the door like the world might break in at any moment. And outside, the world has broken: a “happiness virus” has bound most of humanity into a serene, unified hive mind that wants nothing more than to make everyone join it.

Zosia was part of that hive. She was happy. Peaceful. Safe.

Now she is the first person ever cured, and the collective mourns her like a limb that’s been severed.

    Summary

Spinning lights burst behind her eyes and she felt hands in hers, fingers through fingers.

Surely this was it, surely this was what death felt like. Not the pain, not the horror, but the terrible static silence in her brain. They were gone. She screamed out to Them but They were gone.
