    If someone had told Rook before everything had happened – before the events at the ritual site, before Harding’s death at Tearstone, before the deaths of the gods and the sacrifice Solas and the Inquisitor made to protect the Veil – that a year and a half later she, the saviour of the world and guardian of the Veil, would find herself alone, broken-hearted, shunned by her friends, and pregnant to a two-timing Elven God trapped in the Fade, she would have laughed in their face and stabbed them for the sheer audacity.

    Oh. And the worst part? She still wasn’t invited to the fucking book club.
