ON HIATUS
"What troubles you, my sweet one?" He asks.
"Everything. Nothing," She replies, bringing her fingers to her lips, but putting them back down before she can bite at her fingernails. "I had a horrible dream," She begins, "The dead were attacking me. They tore down the wall, made their way into Winterfell. They were trying to turn me into one of them," She presses herself deeper against her father's chest, one hand clinging to his shirt.
"It was just a dream," Ned hears the words come out of his mouth but he's not sure he believes them. The man he recently executed said the dead had risen, and they believed him to have lost his mind. But maybe he hadn't. Or maybe he had, and his daughter lost her mind as well.

And Joffrey- his green eyes burning, face red and contorted with hate, he looked nothing like her gallant prince. It was if a monster had replaced him, taken over his body. He was spitting like a cat, his golden curls disheveled, and he reeked of cherry wine. It was a good smell, though, so intense it made Sansa’s mouth water. He smelled good. She wondered how he’d taste.
She touched his arm, but was confused by the pale grey fur that covered her hand like fuzz on a peach, or how long and wicked sharply her nails had become. But Sansa was hungry, now, and her teeth tore into the meat of his thigh. His blood burst inside her mouth like a ripe fruit, but it didn’t taste like cherries, and she retched and coughed on it, drooling and spitting out skin and fabric. He’d collapsed, now, screaming, and tried to worm away on his belly. Sansa snapped at him a second time, but without much force; her teeth tore at his sleeve, then ripped away.
(The direwolf and her pups are dead by the time the Starks discover them. But a darker magic is awakened, and something sharp of claw and long of tooth is waiting to emerge inside the children of Winterfell, all the same.)
