Summary
As it always did, History was to make its judgement upon her. Witch, they would call her, thankless and evil and depraved.
But, as it often was to those who were beyond offering their own defense, History was wrong.
For, above all else, Goneril loved her father.

Summary
Buck’s eyes were wide, mouth agape as he looked over Eddie from head to toe.
“You don’t think–” he stopped, roaming eyes now stopping to stare at Eddie’s exposed stomach. “What if.. you are?”
“Are what..?” Eddie’s brow furrowed as he followed Buck’s eyeline, looking down his own body.
“Um, just.. I mean, you were just throwing up, isn’t that a symptom? Of being.. Pregnant?”
Now, this is biologically impossible. And any other day, the thought wouldn’t have even crossed Buck’s mind, and Eddie definitely wouldn’t have believed it. But this night, they were just stupid enough, and just drunk enough, that they.. Forgot.
The fic where Buck and Eddie are stupid, drunk, and forget how biology works for a few hours.

Summary
Buck laughed, but his heart ticked with familiar, ridiculous nerves as Eddie tapped the folder against his palm. When Eddie looked that delighted to share something, it was usually about Chris. And when it was about Chris, it was usually about Eddie by extension—some beautifully earnest essay about bravery or soldiers, or an art project where ‘Dad’ had been rendered with heroic proportions and Buck as the guy in the corner with a goofy smile.
It was fine. It was more than fine. Buck had worked his way from the periphery of this picture, frame by frame, until he stood inside it; he could be the guy in the corner, smiling. He could be the second mention. He could be extra.
Still, the old echo stirred: not necessary. Replaceable.
Or, Chris writes an essay in class about his hero. It isn't who Buck expects.

Summary
Eddie walked in a second later, took one glance at Buck’s hair, and paused. He didn’t say anything at first—just pressed his lips together like he was physically restraining himself.
“Don’t say it,” Buck warned, pointing at him.
“I wasn’t going to say anything,” Eddie replied, holding up both hands in surrender. But his eyes sparkled with way too much amusement. “I was just gonna ask if it’s supposed to crunch when you move.”
Buck groaned and let his head drop to the table. “I hate all of you.”
“Nah,” Chimney said cheerfully. “You just hate the truth. And your hair hates you back right now.”
Buck sighed again, more dramatically this time. “I swear it looked good last night…”
Eddie reached out and flicked a stiff curl. “I’m sure it did.”
Buck swatted his hand away with a glare.
Or the one where Buck is learning to take care of his curls so he can learn for Christopher

"It didn’t take long for Buck to settle in. His shoes ended up by the door, mismatched with Eddie’s. His mug collection—half of them chipped in the corners and beautiful designs from travels and gifts—lined up next to Eddie’s neat, fully matching set. He made himself at home without hesitation, and Eddie found himself… not minding.."

“Chimney said you haven’t been complaining at work either.”
“Why are you saying that like it’s a bad thing?” Buck asks. It makes no sense. When he acts crazy and obsessive about Eddie it’s weird and can you please stop, but when he’s normal about him it’s are you okay. “Shouldn’t you guys be happy?”
“It’s just not… you.” She slumps back against the couch. “What happened to crazy girlfriend Buck?”
He has half a mind to be offended by the nickname, but he has to admit it is fairly accurate. Or was.
“I’m secure girlfriend Buck now.”

“Were you wrapping my present?”
“What?” Buck gasps dramatically. “No, we don’t do that.”
“Yeah, what do we look like?” Eddie joins in. “Santa’s elves?”
Buck shifts a leg where he sits criss-cross on the floor and it rustles the paper. Christopher hits them with an unimpressed look. “You know I don’t believe in Santa anymore, right?”
“Chris! You can’t say that!” Buck cries, “If you don’t believe, you don’t receive!”

“Check it out.”
“Why me?!” Buck stares at Eddie, projecting indignance as much as he can through the darkness.
“Big, strong men check out scary noises,” Eddie reasons, still only half-conscious. He wraps himself around Buck’s bicep and drops his head to Buck’s shoulder.
“You’re just as big and strong as I am.”
Eddie shakes his head. “Two inches and twenty pounds. You go, I need my beauty sleep,” he says, lying back down.
