After a while, you stop thinking about it before every handshake, brush of fingertips, fairy tale first kiss. You stop expecting the colours to invade your world after years of monochrome. Maybe that's cynical, but for people like Cole Cassidy, cynical is a necessity and soulmates are just another way for the enemy to hurt you.But fate is never decided by those it affects, and after 27 years, that colour appearing in Cassidy's vision becomes far bleaker than the black and white. Especially after his soulmate runs off into the crowd without so much as a glance his way.
10 years later, after the colours have once again faded, it's in the unlikeliest of people he finds that bond he'd once lost.
