"No... I uh... I set myself up with assholes..." Eddie laughed bitterly, turning to the table to grab his keys and wallet.
"Edmundo." Shannon scolded, expression hardening. "C'mon now... we talked about this. Tommy was not your fault. He's a narcissist, and he manipulated you into seeing what he wanted you to see, okay? It's not your fault."

Seriously, this isn’t how Buck wants to spend Eddie’s last days in town; he’s really content to swallow it down again, keep the peace. He’s going to tell him he put in the notice on the loft, and they’re going to head to the bar with their family, and they’re both going to smile while Eddie drives away, even if it kills them. That is, until Eddie says it.
“If you're going to make this about me having to choose between you or my son, you’re going to lose. Every time.”
In hindsight, he really wishes he could have taken a deep breath, said no, c’mon, of course—that’s, that’s not even a question. He would prefer to take back the angry laugh, too.

"About what exactly?"
"About how much I'd like to reenact this song on Tommy's truck. It could be the beer and the underlying rage talking, but god, destroying his truck sounds amazing right now." The blue-eyed man groaned.

When Eddie's plane goes down, he leaves Buck a voicemail telling him how he feels, after all, he was about to die. Only he didn't die. And when he returns, Buck doesn't say anything about the voicemail and Eddie assumes that mean Buck just isn't interested.
