Sam Wilson is wonderfully surprised when his husband, Bucky Barnes, joins him at the club.
EXCERPT:
Sam knew him.
The press of him.
Those hands.
The light but firm grip on him as he felt the grind of the other’s body.
The scruff brushing his neck as Sam sighed into that touch; relaxed backward into the man who had gently pulled Sam close.
Even on a crowded dance floor; even knowing that he hadn’t been there when Sam and his team had come to the club; Sam knew who he was.
How could Sam not?
“I thought you had a campaign thing in Memphis,” hummed Sam, smiling at the kiss he felt where his neck met his shoulder; at the hands that gently roamed up and down his sides.
Not quite aimless.
But.
A little meandering in a way that felt good.
Sam missed that.
So much.
He savored the touch.
Bucky held enough of Sam’s weight as Sam let himself relax into it more; let his back rest on his husband’s chest.
“Called in a favor,” murmured Bucky between slow, easy kisses to the beat of the song playing; kisses that crept up and down Sam’s neck and shoulders in a fond and comfortable way, “Lot of good sandwiches Wong loves in Memphis. A club tonight, huh?”Series

bucky's tired of trying to reach out to sam and explain everything that happened with the "new avengers", getting met with silence in response.
but when he sees a flyer for a party that sam's supposed to attend as a special guest, he has a few ideas play out with how to get his attention. and maybe with some (awful) support from the rest of the team, maybe he can finally confront sam like he wants to.
or maybe some realizations will finally come to light and change things as bucky knew it.

Summary
It was a bad idea. Sam knew as much. His mission directive was clear: Travel back in time, go to the Stark Expo, and retrieve the stolen Wakandan artefact as a promise of goodwill and a way to make amends with a valued ally. He had finished the first half of his mission and secured the artefact, but he had not activated the Temporal Shift Device to return him to his own time. Curiosity had gotten the better of Sam. Curiosity and a yearning deep inside. He knew that there was a chance that he would see this other Bucky. He knew that if he set the Device to pick-up Bucky’s corporeal frequency, he would find him in the sea of people. The fact of the matter was, Sam missed Bucky. He missed his Bucky.
