Summary
Aziraphale cannot just sit back and hope any longer; Crowley is too precious to him to allow any risk at all to his continued existence. The Metatron's offer was far too good to pass by, and even if Crowley refuses to see it, Aziraphale needs to take this chance to make Heaven into the place of light and good that it should be. Crowley will come around eventually, the angel knows that impetuosity was always one of his flaws.
But what of Aziraphale's flaws? Naivety, perhaps?
I am jumping into the post S2 whirlpool with my own thoughts on What Happened Next.
Whilst I have every confidence that NG will FIX THIS, I have some fears that Amazon will leave us hanging... and anyway, I want my happiness for them NOW, not in another four years...Angst in places, but they will end up on the same page, eventually!

All Crowley had asked for was a little bit of support, a little bit of insurance for the both of them.
Of course he knew that Aziraphale would not have been jumping for joy at the request, but he had had absolutely no idea of the strength of feeling the refusal would come with. Or the strength of the reaction it would evoke in himself.
Which was a shame, really, as 1862 ended up being a year when Crowley needed a friend more than ever before...

Or, an angel and a demon argue and fall out and Crowley finds himself plummeting downwards yet again. This will be very dark in places - especially for Crowley - but I guarantee a happy ending. (I've even planned it this time, so I don't have to do authorial gymnastics to get them there!).
Also - as much as it may sound like it, clinical depression (and associated mental health difficulties) do NOT feature in this story at all.
There will, however, be some non-con.Updates on a Sunday.
