Edgar went all hot and rigid after looking at him. Lit up under the sun, his eyebags glowed lavender and his veins a deep violet. His face was inflamed with spots and freckles near his cheeks and nose and porcelain everywhere else. He was both hard used and brittle-bone delicate at once; the chains at his neck and bruises at his knees concealing his soft interior. He shined like an angel, his blushing altar boy, fire of his loins.
