Jamie hadn’t really thought about where he was going. All he knew was he needed to get out of the house; he needed to get away from the danger posed by his father and the wrath Jamie had set off merely by daring to confront his sober father for no longer being sober.
It hadn’t even been an actual thought; Jamie just ran. He hadn’t considered his destination when he sprinted out the door, yet he somehow ended up standing in front of Roy Kent’s house.

Summary
After Thomas' suicide attempt, we didn't get to see much of what he did, or what happened, that helped him to eventually feel better. It's unlikely he got any professional therapy, but it seems to me that something had to happen that helped him to change. This is my take on what happened--the work he did with himself, and the interactions he had with the people who care about him--that helped him to eventually decide to go on living, and in particular in this story, how he got back to work.
I'll add more character and relationship tags as I go.
