I've changed this description a thousand times. None of them felt honest. I just wanted to read a story of broken people finding each other and dancing to good music in the middle of nowhere. I also wanted to figure out how to write about consuming love. The beginning isn't great, it slowly gets better. It's dramatic, extreme, a very unrealistic love story. But it is a love story. And there are a few lines that make me smile.

Clarke asked. Octavia nodded sleepily and Clarke turned off the lights as they shuffled out of the dorm. Thank god Octavia's roommate had dropped out- homesickness, apparently- or they might have had more trouble getting her home. Bellamy sighed. In the fluorescent light of the dorm hallway, he could see Clarke's face properly. His gaze softened and he allowed himself to really look at her: blonde hair framing a sharply cut face and even more dangerous-looking blue eyes. Her strong chin melted into a neck and a body that rolled in and out of curves with ease. Bellamy shook his head. Was he checking out his little sister's friend?
"You good to go from here?" He broke the awkward silence.

Summary
In retrospect, Clarke thinks she always knew (or at least hoped) that she would get to reconnect with Bellamy Blake one day. It seemed like one of those inevitable things that would just happen when it would, with no need to rush it on her part. She always liked to think, presumptuously enough, that it would be one of those moments where he sees her looking all adult and sophisticated and dignified, and is impressed both by her looks and achievements – and with the amount of crap she had gotten from him back when they were close, she completely deserves that. But she never thought it would happen so soon and without any forewarning.
OR: A Modern AU where Clarke and Bellamy are childhood frenemies that reconnect years later.
