Summary

The son of Jughead and Betty has been best friends with the daughter of Toni and Cheryl for years. They grew up together, got each other through their darkest times, and were present during each other's greatest moments.

Jughead rolled over, propping his head on his hand as she stared at her.
“What?” she asked quietly, her body becoming painfully aware of their proximity.
“I was just thinking about what you said earlier and I had a thought.”
“Did it get lonely?” she quipped.
“Smartass,” he deadpanned even as he smirked, “Seriously though, I was thinking about what you said earlier and if you wanna break your straight-laced image, what we're doing now is a good start but I know how to speed things along.”
“Oh, yeah? And what exactly do you suggest, oh mighty Serpent Prince?” Betty teased, feeling more confident.
“Well, you could take it a step further and date a Serpent.”
“I’m sorry, what?” Betty squeaked out, staring at him in shock. “And just who do you think is gonna wanna date me, huh?”
“Well, duh. Me, of course.”
“You-u...?” she stuttered, her body screaming at her to say yes, “Did-- Jughead, did you just ask me out?”
“In a sense, yeah,” he said with a smile, tracing his fingers along her arm.
“What’s that even supposed to mean?” she questioned, willingly her body to calm down.
“That means, you pretend to be my girlfriend.”
