Climbing the ranks, the criminal organisation offers him the job of a lifetime - assassinate Rex Lapis, the most powerful man in Liyue. Childe is an excellent marksman and had shown his prowess time and time again, making this near-impossible job impossible to refuse.
He has the notoriously charismatic Rex Lapis at his mercy in his crosshairs when a momentary blunder in concentration renders him unconscious.
He wakes blindfolded and bound with only survival on his mind, struggling against both his restraints and own will to make it out alive. Only wanting to return home successful, he comes face to face with his target who suspiciously has no killing intent. Rather, the enigmatic "Zhongli" seems to be far more interested in establishing a contract with him instead.
