Enid was silently sobbing now, clutching on to Wednesday's hand. She brought her free hand up to rub her eyes raw before leaning down and placing a kiss on Wednesday's head. "I'd never let you fall. No matter how close you get..."
Wednesday snorted a half chuckle, sucking up her feelings and shaking her inner core to sit still. "That's not the end, Enid." She sat up slightly, taking her turn to cup the crying girl's face. "What they don't tell you is how Icarus laughed as he fell. Threw his head back and yelled into the winds, he spread his arms wide and bared his teeth to the world." Wednesday slowly leaned in.

Enid’s eyes widen in surprise, before she’s rushing in to pull Wednesday into a hug. At this point Wednesday’s familiar with the process. She wraps her arms around Enid’s shoulders, buries her face into Enid’s neck. Thinks 'mine.'
She’s aware of Ajax’s eyes on them from the courtyard. Wednesday doesn’t make any move to pull away, but instead meets his bewildered gaze over Enid’s shoulder -

Enid rolled onto her side, curled into a ball to feel sorry for herself. Cracking open an eye, she looked at Wednesday’s side of the room.
It was as tidy as ever. Her bed was made. Her desk was cleared of everything except her typewriter, a page sticking out of the back. Her manuscript box was still locked on her bookshelf. Thing was still insistently pointing at a stack of paper that was neatly thrown away into her paper bin next to her desk.

Summary
But, a new emotion stirs in Wednesday. One that is fighting to be heard, she can feel it climbing up her throat. It's filled with brutality, but not in a violent way, no–even worse.
In an honest way.
"Your scars, they're radiant." Her voice drops even more. She almost fears Enid didn't hear. But the blonde snaps upright in bed. Her face is still red and wet with tears. The concealer is gone and Wednesday's gaze softens seeing the markings.
Maybe being honest is what Enid needs.
Or the one where Enid is insecure about her scars and Wednesday adores them.
