Summary
“I-” Will started. “He’s not. He’s not my boyfriend.”
“Then what is he?” Mike asked, an accusing edge to his tone.
“Woah, Mike.” Will set his glass on the coffee table. “I don’t understand why this is bothering you so much.”
“Because-” Mike stopped himself.
*Because I’m jealous.*

Summary
Will’s jaw dropped and he removed his hand from Mike’s shoulder. “Mike… don’t… don’t say that. You don’t mean it.”
Mike’s face fell. “What?” he asked quietly. “Will, I- of course I mean it. Why would I say it if I didn’t?”
“You’re… you’re confused,” Will insisted, looking down at his lap sadly. “You just think it’s cool I have powers.”

As he shuffled through the flannels and t-shirts, a shirt slipped off of one of the plastic hangers. “Oops,” he said aloud instinctively even though no one was around. He crouched down to pick it up from the floor when something in the corner caught his eye.
A box, full of papers. Envelopes? He looked over his shoulder and listened intently for a moment to make sure he wasn’t in danger of being caught, then reached in and pulled an envelope out.
To Will’s surprise, the envelope was addressed to him. In Lenora Hills.
Mike had been writing, he just hadn’t sent them.
Why?

Summary
Without thinking, Will placed a gentle, grounding hand on Mike’s knee, which stopped it in its tracks, causing Mike to finally break away from the sight of his own lap and look at Will. When their eyes met, Will realized just how close Mike was sitting to him. It was almost… *too* close. He felt heat rising in his cheeks at the proximity.
“Um,” Mike tried to start, failing miserably, his own cheeks reddening. “There’s, uh. There’s…”
“Huh?” Will asked, a bit stunned and very perplexed. “There’s… what?”
Mike swallowed anxiously, licking his lips. “Um. I just wanted to tell you that…”
“Mike, what is it?” Will was starting to get concerned. Why was Mike so anxious?
“I, uh…” Mike sighed and shook his head again before glancing at the ceiling one last time. “Shit. Nevermind.” He suddenly stood and walked away, mumbling to himself in a frustrated tone.
Will finally took notice of where Mike’s eyes had drifted to, and as Mike walked away, he looked up at the ceiling above him.
Mistletoe.

Summary
“I can’t believe you would do this to me!”
Mike stomped down the dark, decrepit stairs of the basement, nearly tripping on a vine.
“Mike, I said I’m sorry!” Will called down the stairs as he shut and locked the basement door behind them before following down more gently. To say he was unhappy to be back in the Upside Down was an understatement, and to make matters worse, Mike had just caught him in a lie.
*The* lie.
