“As I was saying--” Sherlock says shakily. For some inexplicable reason, his back is pushed up against the wall. John has no idea how that has happened.
“You have some-” John tries to say, but Sherlock barrels through.

“Good, I’d like a kiss.”
Sherlock stops talking immediately. John wants to take that back, wants to backpedal like an idiot, blot out his words from Sherlock’s mind. But he also feels dangerous and reckless, wants the shape of Sherlock’s mouth burnt into his own.

The night they get back from Seattle, Vince gets drunk with Turtle playing Madden while Eric sulks in his bedroom. When Turtle gives him a weird look, Vince hints that they’re having a work-related disagreement and lets Turtle draw his own conclusions. It’s close enough to the truth. Vince ended things mostly because he figured they could either stay friends and stay in business or they could fuck each other up something fierce, and a little bit because he’d started wanting Eric all the time, and that wasn’t good for business at all.

Summary
After a close encounter with death, feelings that have remain hidden are finally adressed by John and Sherlock. Inexperienced and insecure, Sherlock relies on John to show him the way, and their relationship blooms. From the beginning, they had agreed to be careful with Sherlock's carrier status, their way of life not fit to raise a child. Besides, having each other is more than enough. When Sherlock does find himself pregnant, it is a shock, for both -even more so when he decides, against all odds, to keep the child. Where to go from there? As John has come to learn, with Sherlock, nothing is ever simple, but he's always up for a challenge, especially if it's to take care and protect the mad genius he loves.
