The sentence broke Erik’s heart. He cursed himself for allowing Peter to see his pathetic display of selfishness.
There was a reason his fantasies remained only that, why he never crossed the line of actually hurting himself—aside from the possibility of getting caught by Charles.
It would destroy Peter. It would ruin the last thing in the world Erik cared about.
He had to remind himself that he wasn’t alone anymore. Nina was gone but he still had someone he could hurt if he wasn’t careful, someone he could corrupt, someone whom he’d sacrifice his own life in a heartbeat to protect.
His own parents were forcibly taken from him, how could he entertain doing the same to his own son?

Summary
Peter slowed down time despite his inability to do anything.
He watched the fire slowly creep toward its target, millisecond by millisecond, hoping his dad would manage to block it before it reached him, hoping someone would jump in and absorb the hit, hoping for anyone to react in time before it was too late, but they couldn't. He knew they couldn't. The only person who could protect Erik right now was currently incapacitated, struggling against the sand that bound him.
He cursed himself for how useless he was without his legs, at how little it took for Apocalypse to render him defeated. He would trade his speed for superstrength, telekinesis, time travel, anything that could free him and prevent what was about to happen. As he realized the futility of his struggle, all he could hope for was that the immortal decided to spare his father.

Erik dies during the fight against En Sabah Nur.

Peter doesn’t need a dad, but there is something about Erik that is magnetic and the more time they spend together the more Peter wants him in his life. There was the high of letting himself need people, but even more addictive was letting himself think that maybe he could be needed too. In short, Erik is pulling Peter in like he is metal, and Peter hates that he wants to be.

Erik was fully annoyed at this point. Peter was talking to him like a child having the talk about bees and butterflies for the first time, and he didn’t like it. Erik clearly wanted to get over with this quickly.

Summary
All Peter has felt since that day when his mother—his entire world—went up in flames is complete and utter rage. Rage for the mutants that caused it and rage for the ones who go through their lives with no consequences.
So when Trask orders him to spy on the highly acclaimed Charles Xavier and attend his school, Peter wonders how he'll get through the mission without tearing everything apart.
But overtime, Peter finds himself growing attached to the very people he was trained to despise... one metal-bending mutant in particular. Through hazes of lies and betrayal, Peter begins to question everything he's ever known.

Summary
During a hot summer at the Xavier Institute, Peter wakes up and spends the day as he normally does: prepping the school for the return of the students, spending quality time with his teammates, delaying telling Erik that they’re related, and going on a mission to rescue mutants from an experimental government facility. Unlike any other day however, he makes an error in judgment that results in him dying a horrible death.
The next morning, he wakes up to find that none of that has happened, and he’s reliving the very same day all over again.
