Nothing out of the ordinary, really. In fact, Alex would have been able to very easily ignore it, had it not been for the way that Henry – where he’s standing at the kitchen counter stretched up onto his tiptoes to reach their stash of spare boxes of tea – freezes right there in Alex’s peripherals.
Now that gets Alex's attention.

“Whitaker, listen. I don't want you calling in sick tomorrow, so…” Robby took a few steps back and scratched his head. “Why don't we get you someplace warm, and you can ask me whatever you want there? I don't live far from here.”

Or: Hob has known that Dream is his mildly star-crossed soulmate since their first meeting in 1389, but believes they have a mutual understanding not to acknowledge it; Dream, meanwhile, was under the impression that the Endless have no soulmates whatsoever, up until their sixth meeting in 1889.
Finding out they're wrong comes as a bit of a shock to both of them.Series
